What we do

Cervino Medical is a private outpatient clinic. Our consultants see adults referred by their GP for neurology, endocrinology and diabetes, respiratory and sleep medicine, nephrology and general internal medicine, at Beacon Hospital in Sandyford, Blackrock Clinic and Bon Secours Hospital in Glasnevin.

Every appointment is with a consultant. There is no registrar clinic and no rotating team: the specialist named on your appointment is the one who takes your history, examines you, arranges any tests through the host hospital and follows you up. After every visit your GP receives a full letter.

Why we exist

Public waiting lists for specialist outpatient appointments in Ireland run to months and sometimes years. For a person with new headaches, blackouts, abnormal thyroid results or poorly controlled diabetes, that wait is the problem. Cervino was set up to remove it. Our neurology clinics see patients within two weeks of referral, and every specialty works to the same principle: assess now, decide now, and hand a clear plan back to the GP.

How we work with GPs

GPs refer through Healthlink, or by phone or email, and hear back within one working day. We treat the referring GP as part of the patient's team: the letter after each consultation says what was found, what was started, what to monitor and when we will see the patient again. Where ongoing care is best provided in general practice, we say so.

Practice support

Running clinics well is a discipline of its own. The same team that manages Cervino's rooms, systems, finances and administration offers that experience to other consultants and practices through our practice support service.
