Dr Ibrahim Imam

Dr Ibrahim Imam has been a Consultant Neurologist since 2009. His areas of expertise include neuropathies and neuromuscular disorders, as well as a broad range of neurological conditions such as migraine, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, dementia and sleep disorders.

Dr Imam runs The Neurology Lounge Podcast, manages the online neurology database Neurochecklists, and curates the book review blog The Doctors Bookshelf.

Dr Ibrahim Imam completed his basic medical training at the University of Ibadan in 1989 and specialised in internal medicine and neurology. He obtained Fellowships of the Nigerian and West African Postgraduate Medical Colleges in 2000 and later completed the Diploma in Clinical Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queen Square, London. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Simulation and Patient Safety from the University of Plymouth.

Dr Imam is the author of three books: 700 Essential Neurology Checklists, Surfing the Brain: An Exploration of the Fringes of Neurology and Human Factors and Patient Safety: A Primer for Doctors and Medical Students. He contributed a chapter to the Oxford Handbook Headache: A Practical Manual and has published over 30 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
